Middle Schoolers Excel at PJAS Competition
On Saturday February 4, nine Alpha middle school students competed at the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Sciences (PJAS) competition at Baldwin High School. Second place awards were presented to Claire Anthony, Tessa Burns and Ainsley Kelman. First Place awards were presented to Ainsley Cook-Baldauf, Isabela Oviedo, Aine Corrigan, Dylan DeVore, Lily O'Neill and Eva Palladino.
In addition, Aine Corrigan and Dylan DeVore won Special Awards from the Keep America Beautiful organization; Eva Palladino was named the recipient of a Certificate from the American Vacuum Society; and Lily O'Neill won the prestigious Director's Award, along with a $100 prize.
The competitors were led by their middle school science teacher, Linda Cessar, who put in long hours preparing the students for the competition. Congratulations to all of our PJAS competitors and to Linda Cessar!
